Sarah Waltz, serves as one of Rise Recovery’s New Gens Coordinator, serving siblings and children (age 9-17) of those struggling with substance use issues. Sarah was born and raised in Sacramento, California and moved to San Antonio in 2006 where she attended Alamo Heights High School. She graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Children and Adolescents in 2014 and then graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio, with a Master’s degree in Social Work.
Sarah grew up in a chaotic environment with parents that were using substances. Because of this, Sarah is interested in helping children and youth cope with similar experiences. Sarah believes in the power of meaningful connections with trusted adults to help children cope with all aspects of life. In her free time, Sarah enjoys being active by playing water polo and softball, spending time with friends, and binge watching reality shows.
