Staying Engaged through the Holidays

The holidays can be the most difficult time for those struggling with substance use. That's why the Rise Recovery team is staying engaged and ready to help this holiday season. Our 210-SAY-CARE Helpline was active through the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend with over 100 people reaching out. We were there to answer every call.

Our peer coaches are staying involved in the community volunteering for efforts like the South San Food Drive and by partnering with local outreach centers such as the Harlandale Care Center, to strategically reach those in need. Rise Recovery staff have also planned sober holiday activities for participants by giving away gingerbread house kits to build in a fun virtual fellowship festivity, see below!

As a member of our Rise Recovery family, we invite you to join our efforts by supporting our year-end campaign. DONATE NOW to help teens, young adults and their families overcome the effects of drugs and alcohol. All donations made by December 31 will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000! A donation in any amount makes a world of difference to the youth and families we serve. Thank you for your support!

Happy holidays and peace to you all from your Rise family!

The Heart of the Matter

Partnership to End Addiction has created a new podcast interview series, hosted by Elizabeth Vargas, a person in recovery and author of Between Breaths, a Memoir of Panic and Addiction. The podcast, available via iTunes, Spotify and Google, gives space to talk about substance use and mental health and the ways in which people are shifting the narrative, to support the cause of ending the disease of addiction. Guests are athletes, political leaders, researchers, clinicians, authors and families, including former NBA player Chris Herren and David Sheff, author of Beautiful Boy. Learn more.
