Hello! I’m Alecsander Gallegos, a 19-year-old who found his path to recovery through the unique journey at Rise Inspire Academy, the first recovery high school in San Antonio. Graduating on May 25, 2023, marked a significant milestone in my life, and it’s now an incredible honor to contribute to the very place that paved the way for my transformation.

Proudly an alum of Rise Inspire Academy, I serve as a Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS), adding value to the team that once inspired me. This role is not just a privilege; it’s a chance to give back and make a difference.

Celebrating a 2-year milestone on Jan 4, 2024, represents my commitment to sobriety, guided by a dedicated engagement in a 12-step program. This program has been pivotal in shaping my personal growth and ongoing recovery.

Working with the youth and alongside my peers is a source of joy for me. There’s a unique connection that comes from shared experiences. In my role, I aim to inspire more young individuals, just like me, and emphasize that recovery is a journey accessible to everyone, regardless of age.
