Ashanti was born and raised in Panama, Central America. She moved to San Antonio the end of her 8th grade year. She attended Earl Warren High School and graduated in 2014 where she then attended The University of Texas at San Antonio receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Ashanti is now receiving her Master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Ashanti completed her Graduate internship with the Y.E.S. program then became a full-time employee. She loves helping people and is especially drawn to helping youth. She believes in the importance of treating others with kindness and having empathy towards others. Faith is an important aspect of Ashanti’s life. In her free time, Ashanti enjoys hiking and dancing and spending time with friends/family. “Grace means that all of your mistakes now serve a purpose instead of serving shame.”- Dr. Brene Brown
