National Speaker Damon West to Visit Recovery High School Students, Ahead of May Benefit Breakfast Appearance
San Antonio, TX (April 8, 2025) – Nationally renowned speaker, author, and advocate Damon West will visit Rise Recovery on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, to meet with students at Rise Inspire Academy and help build excitement for his return to San Antonio next month as the keynote speaker at Rise Recovery’s annual Benefit Breakfast.
Damon West, author of the best-selling book The Coffee Bean, is a former NCAA Division I quarterback who transformed his life after addiction and a prison sentence, and now travels the country inspiring audiences with his message of hope, accountability, and the power of becoming a "coffee bean"—a force for positive change.
The April 10th visit will begin with a short tour of Rise Recovery’s campus, followed by a special talk in the school auditorium where Damon will be able to engage directly with students on their own road to recovery. A light lunch will be provided during this hour.
This visit also serves as a pre-visit to Damon’s upcoming appearance at the Rise Recovery Benefit Breakfast, taking place on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM at the San Antonio Country Club. The breakfast is one of the organization’s signature events, bringing together community leaders, supporters, and advocates to raise awareness and funds for Rise Recovery’s mission to serve youth and families impacted by substance use.
“His visit to our campus gives our students a special opportunity to connect with someone who truly understands the power of change, and it also helps spread the word about our exciting upcoming Benefit Breakfast,” says Evita Morin, CEO at Rise Recovery.
Media are welcome and encouraged to attend.
