Our Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is made up of dedicated leaders who share a passion for recovery and community impact. Many members bring lived recovery experience, providing meaningful perspective and helping guide our mission with compassion, purpose, and hope.

  • Alice brings more than 40 years of professional experience as a Casualty Actuary, including 11 years as Chief Property & Casualty Actuary at USAA before retiring in 2015.

    A lifelong member of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church, Alice has dedicated many years to community service and nonprofit leadership. She served 15 years on the Board of Directors of Methodist Healthcare Ministries, including two years as Board Chair, and 12 years on the Board of Governors of the Methodist Healthcare System of South Texas, where she also served two years as Chair.

    Through her involvement with Methodist Healthcare Ministries, Alice developed a deeper understanding of the impact behavioral health challenges have on individuals, families, and communities, as well as the need for greater access to services throughout South Texas. Inspired by Rise Recovery's mission, she joined the Board of Directors to help sustain and expand access to recovery support services.

    Alice and her husband, David, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in March 2027. They have two children, Andrew and Zoe, and six grandsons who bring tremendous joy to their lives.
